Can I Have a More Organized Home in 4 Weeks? Day 13

I’m following along with the Money Saving Mom’s series 4 Weeks to More Organized Home (Simplified) and posting my daily progress here.  Today was a bit better than the first two days of the week!  I’m not sure if it was because I thought today’s assignments were a bit easier or because I just felt a bit more motivated but I seemed to accomplish more today.  Maybe that was because I was actually home a bit more today than Monday or Tuesday.

Get dressed in something that makes you feel great

Okay, I’ll fess up and share that I stayed in my pajama bottoms until noon!  It wasn’t really by choice though.  I had a little issue with the laundry where everyone had clean clothes except myself.  So I sat in my pretty sweater and pajama pants until a load of laundry with my pants was complete.

Sit down with a cup of coffee or tea, refer to your list of weekly goals, and make a list of no more than 5-7 specific things you want to accomplish today

I downed a glass of Emergen-C while I made my list.  Tis the season!  I think I did fairly well on my list which someone thought would be fun to delete from the computer apparently.  I know I accomplished 3 of the tasks so I’m getting better.  I actually accomplished one of goals (buying black pants/white shirt combo for J to wear in his school Christmas program).

Set the timer for 15 minutes and do a quick-clean of your bathroom

Our main bathroom was a bit beyond a quick clean!

This was nice to see on the list since I had planned to do this anyway so I could put up a new Christmas shower curtain.  I even went ahead and cleaned both our bathrooms!

The gingerbread man shower curtain I bought at a garage sale for $1 doesn’t match too well but it’s fun so I went ahead with it.

Bedroom bathroom pre-cleaning. I forgot to take an after photo.

Clean the top of your kitchen cupboards if there is space between them and the ceiling and the top of your refrigerator.   If you have clutter on top of your refrigerator, go through it and see if you can get rid of it or find a new home for it.  Wipe down the outside of your kitchen cupboard doors.

I couldn’t reach up there!

The top of the refrigerator really only held my sewing scissors, the boys’ lunch boxes and that tub. Most of it stayed.

I probably needed to clean the top of the kitchen cupboards but I couldn’t reach it.  Whew!  The top of the refrigerator wasn’t that bad since it is still fairly  new.  Everything up there had a purpose for being there and only one item was out-of-place.  I also wiped down the cabinets although I did that task rather quickly.

I did everything a bit out-of-order today but I did also go back and do another 15 minutes in the living room which was the day 11 task as well as tackling one of yesterday’s tasks which was to clean the interior of the microwave.  I will spare you THOSE pictures.  I had plans for the stove top but ran out of steam before other things had to take priority.  I also realized I completely missed updating in regard to day 12.  Oops!  In addition, I also cleaned out my purse again like on day 1 but I had a motive.  My purse straps broke and using it as a clutch was just not practical so I bought a new one today.  I like it better as it has a few more pockets and a strap so I can use both my hands while shopping.   I also bought the first Christmas present of the season today.

Old purse on the left. New and slightly bigger purse with a strap on the right.

How was your Wednesday?

Thanks! I was just worried the phone would ring and I’d not be prepared to run out the door. Thankfully, it didn’t.
