I missed a few months of Wonder if it Works Wednesday but want to get back on track and since today is the first Wednesday of the month, it is time to share about whether one of my organizing projects is a success or not so much of one. For today’s post, I decided to go back and review some of the mini-projects I completed back in February. Surely, mini-projects should have been easy to maintain or maybe not. Let’s see.
My first mini-project was to organize my baking cabinet. It was in pretty scary shape.
This is the cabinet after I cleaned and organized it:
So would you like to know if it stayed relatively organized? Before I answer that, I will say that things sometimes still fall out of it and recently one of my favorite Pyrex measuring cups plunged to a rather messy end.
I think the Pyrex cup fatality was just one of those freak accidents and since I had two of them, I actually have a little more space in the cabinet now. Of course, I really do sometimes miss having my extra measuring cup! I’m going to call this mini-project mostly a success.
Another mini-project I tackled that week was just one shelf in our bedroom closet. It was quite the unorganized mess.
I was really happy with the final results although I have yet to organize any of the other shelves. The shelves above and below it look pretty much the same as in the photo.
Here is what the one organized shelf in the bedroom closet looks like today.
It has stayed pretty much the same. I could fix it in about 3 minutes which I think means this organized space is working. The photo albums are related to my research as they contain old photos. The only two items not related on the shelf are a couple of DVDs that I was looking into selling on Amazon about a month ago (ahem possibly more like 2-3 months) and a box of playing cards that I really have no idea who might have put them there.
How do you define the success (or failure) of your organizing projects?
