Ever have those weeks where you feel like you’ve been really busy but then can’t say exactly with what? That was my week around here. It was the first full week of school for the boys so maybe that has something to do with it. I just feel like I should have this mile-long list of accomplishments to share on here and yet I have no overly exciting accomplishments to show. I mean I’m assuming you all won’t think fixing dinner last night is a huge accomplishment unless I whipped out the Julia Child cookbook and spent 3 hours on it (so not gonna happen over here). In all my busyness this week, I seem to have started quite a few things and not finished any of them. Can you relate? Thank goodness for Follow Through Fridays!
My items aren’t overly exciting either which is probably why I’ve been ignoring them all week.
Clean the house! Somehow this place went from not too bad last night to an explosion of dirty dishes in the kitchen and dirty laundry lurking behind furniture in the living room overnight. The bathrooms are just icky. The floors need attention (I did buy a small steam mop on Monday…maybe Tuesday..and did one bathroom floor but it could stand a second steaming). Do you really want to see my messy house? I’ll show you but only if you promise to come back tomorrow and look at it when it’s clean.
Go get the car inspected. Please pray that it passes because if it doesn’t, I’m going to be in trouble with my husband who doesn’t have a procrastination problem and suggested I take care of this back in July when the “your tags are expiring” postcard arrived in the mail. This is one of those I don’t want to do it tasks that I have put off until the last possible minute. I knew better and I put it off anyway so now I’m going to make myself spend a lovely, free Friday afternoon sitting in an auto mechanic shop reading 3-year-old auto magazines and inhaling gasoline fumes while pretending I know what they are talking about to avoid being fleeced into any unnecessary repairs. I might as well add: find the renewal reminder postcard into this one as well. If it passes, perhaps I’ll even go for broke and go renew the tags today.
Go get our poor little kittens more flea medicine. I am not exactly thrilled that the stuff the vet sold me back in July didn’t seem to work for the full month. I don’t think the cats are thrilled either. I think bugs are just bad in these parts this year but I can’t handle the fleas coming into the house not that I’m exactly a big fan of being under immediate mosquito attack anytime I step into our backyard.
