A short Saturday success story today: I wasn’t. The end. I suppose that is not much of a post on how my big plans for Friday fell a wee bit short, huh?
Do you want to read a list of my excuses? Seriously? Well, okay here we go:
- This is the project that came the closest to completion. I am quite happy with it although I’m not lighting the candles today because J started clearing his throat yesterday and seems to be dealing with allergies or a small cold. Whichever it is, I don’t think scented candles would help him and would probably make it worse. Also, I can’t figure out how to take nice pictures of glass and burning candles so…forgive the quality of the following photos:
I bought a drinking glass that had a fall print to put in this scene but can’t figure out what to do with it. I’m torn between buying a fall bouquet and cutting it rather short to fit or filling it with fall items from the yard like acorns and pretty leaves. Any decorating advice for me?
- I didn’t fill in the numbers on my dry erase board because the ink kept smudging rending my writing illegible. It is one of those curse of being left-handed things. I’m thinking I need to ditch this dry erase board and just print something similar off the computer. I mean how many of these numbers are going to change all that often?
- Well, I am thinking that it is probably obvious since I’m just now posting about my success (or lack thereof) at almost noon on Saturday, the writing blog posts in advance did not come together for me. Instead of writing about putting my family first, I spent quite a bit of time on the phone actually talking to my family (my sister). I don’t get a chance to talk to my sister very often so I thought a lovely phone conversation with her was more important than writing blog posts.
- I did, however, get all that la-la-laundry folded (although not before 9p.m. last night). I almost forgot to give myself a teeny bit of credit for that one!
Even though I fell short this week on my follow-through list, I’m not upset or disappointed. If I sat on the couch eating bonbons instead of tackling my list (and hey, sometimes we need that), I might be a bit upset but spending extra time talking to family is always more important than a to-do list of items that were low enough priorities to be postponed in the first place.
How did you do with your to-do list yesterday?
