Even though last week feels like a big blur and I’m not sure I actually accomplished anything I planned, I do think these Monday morning planning sessions are helpful. It is just nice to sit down and take a few minutes to think about the week ahead and start the week with a plan. I really appreciate Felicia over at Felicia’s Red Door Life for hosting this link up to help us all stay motivated. If you are a blogger, go link up with her! Now on to this week’s plans….as I pretend I’m Columbus using a spyglass to look upon my week.
Scripture of the Week:
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not. (Isaiah 35:4)
Focus of the Week:
Clean up, clean up, everybody do their share, clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere! Yuck. The house is a pit and I really do need to get our clothing in order plus a friend’s daughter’s competitive soccer team is having some sort of clothing donation fundraiser drive. I’m glad to help them and us all at the same time!
The Weather this Week:
Fall is here this week. Maybe a bit of rain tonight but otherwise highs in the low 60s during the day and lows in the 40s at night (Brr!). SIGH, I suppose it is time to put those flip-flops away after all.
Listening to my two sick (but not that sick) boys argue about something (probably a video game) in the next room. Thinking I need to search for free home-school lessons on Christopher Columbus for them. I said they could both stay home but we’d have to study Christopher Columbus since it was Columbus Day. I’m still in my pajamas and in need of a shower although there is no rush, going back to bed seems like a rather nice option but I won’t take it.
To Do List:
Even though last week was a blur, I did better with my list than I recalled. I still (ahem) need to change the cat boxes–poor little cats! I better do that one today lest they decide to “complain” about their bathrooms.
Fill out paperwork! I have a Dr.’s appointment on Wednesday to see why I’m having such strange pain in my side and back plus I accepted a job to substitute teach at a preschool and that requires a physical and TB test. Have I ever mentioned that I am TERRIFIED of needles? I think I would rather give a speech to 500 people or go through an automatic car wash than have someone stick me with a needle. Both the Dr.’s appointment and job require me filling out some paperwork.
Buy a birthday card plus one early birthday present for J.
Go through the boys’ fall and winter clothing (all of their clothing really) to see what fits and what to donate.
Make sure G has appropriate clothes that fit for next week’s band concert.
Spend 15 minutes each day cleaning the boys’ rooms with their help (this is more for G’s room than J’s room although his needs a small amount of cleaning).
It’s food for fines week at the library! So…I think they may be getting at least 2 grocery bags from me sometime this week. I need to look up our fees.
What I Am Reading This Week:
SIGH. I MUST get back to reading. I miss it and yet, I’ve been doing quite a bit of Netflix….House, Walking Dead, and new episodes of Cake Boss! Plus I finished watching Fringe for a second time (although it was the first time I’d been able to watch season 5 without a bunch of interruptions.).
On the Shopping List:
Cat food (always), people food (again, always), clothing (perhaps depending on what number 4 on the to-do list reveals), and Halloween candy–might be too early for that one. If I get out to Target, I might also buy some extra children’s cold medicine since CVS didn’t have the kind I usually buy (Pediacare without added fever reducer).

On the Blog:
Are any of my other blogging friends doing the 31 days series counting down to the end of the month? I’m enjoying writing for my 31 days of Putting My Family First series but it is absolutely a challenge! I’m hitting that point where I’m afraid I’m going to run out of blog posts well before the month ends. We are almost to the halfway point of the month though!
I’m also thinking about doing a clean out one drawer a day challenge for the blog. I need to do it anyway (I’ve counted and I have 14 drawers in our bedroom plus 5 that belong to my husband so…I figure one drawer a day wouldn’t be too overwhelming and would have them nice and clean by the start of the holiday season). It would be nice to start with clean drawers when I started
shoving stuff hiding stuff in them for the holiday season. Interested?
