Saturday Success Stories, November 23

SaturdaySuccesspic1 Happy Saturday!  Did you have a good Friday?  I actually feel like I mostly accomplished all my list items yesterday!  That means I can spend my Saturday looking at all the pretty pictures over on Pinterest, right?  Well, maybe not the entire day.  I don’t think we’re going to make the tree lighting I wanted to attend either.  It’s cold out there and J still needs a winter coat.  We had a bit of a coat war two weeks ago and for now have called a truce with a heavier jacket but it won’t suffice for wind chills that are in the teens.  Brrrr!  So I guess my “something else” to do this Saturday will be actually biting the bullet and ordering the coat he liked on the Kohl’s website that of course, was not in their stores as that would have been too easy!   While I ponder ordering the coat (poor kid comes by it honest, I despise wearing the winter coats as well) on-line, I’ll share the details of my Friday with you.

  1. Laundry!  It is caught up but not completely finished.  Is laundry ever completely finished though?
  2. All the bills are paid even the electric bill that came in the mail as soon as I put everything away.  I went ahead and did this early since I knew there might be a chance to forget something during the hustle and bustle of the next few weeks.  I was also excited to find out we still had a credit on our trash bill from adding the recycling.  Always nice to call the company saying I can’t figure out what we owe or if I lost a bill or what and have them tell you there is a credit on your account.  I’m not sure if I’m more excited about the credit or the fact that I did not lose the bill after all.

My bill paying and sorting piles. Bills, Filing (2 piles), Shredding,Coupons, and a Band Aid? I have no idea.

  3. I still can’t remember if it is condensed or evaporated milk I need for the pumpkin pie but I know have everything for the other pies except eggs and oatmeal (it’s for the crust of the apple pie).  I also cleaned up those spilled chia seeds which was quite the task.
There were more chia seeds spilled than I thought.

I had to completely empty the shelf so I could clean them.

Measuring cups made great cleaning tools!

Everything back on the baking shelf.

And then, there were seeds all over the counter.

I’m glad I did this one first thing yesterday to get it out-of-the-way.

I made Chia pudding (with the seeds left in the package) to celebrate! It wasn't bad.

How did you do with your to-do list yesterday?

Aw, I bet you have lots of success stories that are probably way more exciting than mine as well! Haven’t heard of Chia jam. I’ll have to check it out and decide if it’s worth buying more seeds.
