Follow Through Friday

I am almost afraid to share that I’ve had a mildly productive week over here.  I’ve accomplished just enough to no longer feel like I’m sinking.  I still have plenty to do but I think I’ll at least survive the last two days of the week.   The improvement in our weather has been incredibly helpful.  There is just something about the sound of melting snow that makes me smile.  I’ve also had my nose in a bunch of daffodils ever since my grocery trip this afternoon.  They were running a special and I just couldn’t resist even though my lovely flowers from last Saturday are still going strong.  However, now that I’ve stopped and smelled the roses daffodils, it is time for Follow Through Friday. FollowThroughFriday1
I’m starting off this photo-less post in style with a head-start this Thursday evening on a task I’ve been putting off all week:  charging the battery on the digital camera!  The boys told me on Monday it needed charged but I kept pushing it until tonight when the camera replied, “I’m exhausted.  I simply cannot take one more picture until I rest and recharge my batteries.”
You’ll simply have to use your lovely imaginations in regards to what I might have shown to go along with the three tasks I’m picking for Follow Through Friday:
  1. Clean off the front and sides of the refrigerator.  I should specify that I mean take all the extra papers and kid’s art papers and “important” papers from 6 months ago off of it.  I may even spray some cleaner on it and wipe it down.

  2. Purge the random piles of paper that are growing everywhere in this house.  I have a hard time with paper but it is almost out of control.  We currently have paper piles on this desk, beside the desk on top of the file box I still need to sort out, papers on both couches (yes, the sofas where people should be able to sit are covered in random papers), and papers on the kitchen table.  I have a feeling the recycle bin will be very well-fed tomorrow.  Of course, some of the papers are important.  We actually had to sift through them last night to find one of J’s homework assignments!

  3. Remember that Blog Manager Notebook I printed out and put together a few Follow Through Fridays back?  It doesn’t help me very much if I don’t actually fill out the pages and use it.  I started off great and then, I stopped.  Why do I do that?  I had to look up my Twitter password earlier this week and it was so nice to have it right there at my fingertips.  I need to make better use of this tool so I plan to spend some time doing just that.  Adding in the information, planning out some posts for March, and just generally working on this blog a bit.

My list isn’t super hard (yet again) but this time it’s because I’m hoping to get out and enjoy some of the nice weather we’re expected to have.  I’m soaking up that sunshine if I can!  What is on your agenda for the day?

I’m trying to stay super productive and not fizzle out. I know all the “rules” about only handling the paper once but sometimes I need to think about things…and then, I take too long to decide. It is amazing how much I’ve thrown away in just 5 minutes here and there already. Hope you have a fun night at the YMCA!

I can’t believe I linked but forgot to comment. Although I do have the excuse that I was also watching my niece… but yeah, I could have found time to comment. And should have.

Since my kids are still young we have to clear off the fridge at least once a month or else it ends up avalanche-ing off and all their beautiful art work gets stepped on. Which is actually usually what spurs a fridge clean off.

Wait a minute, you have other things to do besides comment on my blog? What nerve you have! 🙂 Totally understand. I’ve had the fridge avalanche happen as well, not very fun.

It is SO refreshing to hear that you also have paper piles lying everywhere. I think that paper piles, while they are a tad unsightly, really are a sign of living in one’s space. Yes, too much is too much, but some, I think it’s good. I LOVE seeing on the table that O+ on my kid’s papers from last week, or seeing the new title of a book that we need to look up, or yummy looking recipes. I wish I just had more flat space LOL

I am trying to figure out how I can contain it a little bit, and so far I’ve collected a few things along the way that once I get started, man, I am gonna be one organized chick LOL

Thanks so much for being so real about it all. I can still remember having this gal over, with her two kids, and she put her McF nose up and said “I love coming here, it’s so casual” LOL Needless to say she was the last McF mom I ever had here. Sure wish we lived close to each other 🙂

According to our paper piles, we live very well in our space 🙂 I am working on a post specifically about all these paper piles. By the way, I don’t think more flat space is the answer at least not for me. Plenty of homes for sale in this area!
