Catching Up on Follow Through Friday

For my Follow Through Friday, I plan on trying to catch up on…well, everything. I knew this week was going to be busy. I even prepared for it (somewhat). However, I still have plenty of places where I simply fell behind.
The thing about having a busy week is no matter how well I prepare, the week is still busy!  The reality is that busy weeks mean falling behind in a few areas.  That translates into catching up on things once things slow down a bit.  Of course, being busy also means that when things slow down I really don’t feel like doing a bunch of things.  I’m just going to pick 3 easy tasks that I’ve shoved aside all week:
  1. Catch up on replying to my blog comments.  If you’ve commented on here, I’ve read it!  I just have had limited time to sit down and properly respond to things.  Sometimes after a long day, all my brain can handle is to crush a few candies.  I also have lots of blogs I enjoy reading and haven’t had a chance to visit this week.

  2. Catch up on cleaning the house.  Surprisingly, it is not that bad.  However, the bathrooms are icky and those floors I was going to mop last week might still need that this week.  I started today with a 15 minute cleaning in each room but only managed to get the kitchen and living room cleared of clutter before deciding other projects would be a bit more fun.  I did throw down some grass seed on most of our muddy areas outside.  Then, the neighbor walked by and shared that the weather forecast was calling for snow on Monday.

  3. Catch up on clearing away all the excess papers floating around the house.  I am starting to feel overwhelmed with all the papers that have piled up back here on the desk and the printer.  I’m fairly certain that quite a few of them could simply be sent to the recycle bin like the school fundraiser forms that I forgot, one from each kid.

I also need to grocery shop, clothes shop, and catch up on some laundry (although my husband did quite a bit of that for us on Tuesday!).  What tasks have you pushed aside this week?  Follow Through Friday would be a great day to revisit them and get a few things done!

Ah weeks can be like that. Heck I was on vacation this week and I barely got anything done. I kept opting for things that were more fun. LOL It happens. 🙂
I hope that icky snow stays away from all of us! It’s spring gosh darn it! Time for it to feel like it!
Hope you have a great Friday. 🙂

It is spring break so I am behind too. Troy, George and I went to visit my Dad in southern Missouri over the weekend. This week George had friends over to spend the night after seeing Mr. Peabody and Sherman and Wednesday we went swimming. Work was relaxing on Thursday. Today I really need to pay bills and shop for household supplies.

Whew! It sounds as if you have been super busy. I keep forgetting about that Mr. Peabody and Sherman movie when trying to think about something we can all go see together…how was it?

I actually have seen it twice. I liked it. I would have gone to see the Muppet movie today with friends but George does not like the Muppets. Troy and I want to see Divergent and The Grand Budapest Hotel. I work tomorrow so maybe one on Sunday or maybe the zoo before George has to go back to school.

My oldest son thought the last Muppet movie was “creepy” so he’s with George on that. I thought The Grand Budapest Hotel movie looked fun.

Grass seed is hardy, and will be fine if snowed on.

Grass seed will germinate when the soil temps get to about 50 degrees.

Snow keeps birds from eating the seed before it germinates, and it’s already right there ready when the soil warms up enough so it can sprout.

That is good to know. Thankfully, the birds seem to be leaving my seed alone so far. I guess I’ll go get some more to finish throwing it out there tomorrow. Thanks for the info 🙂

I have a new tactic – my son has had to earn screen time by doing housework. All of a sudden he is doing his own laundry and vacuuming. Love it! 🙂

The papers I have to deal with myself… 🙁

I love that tactic! I may have to borrow it around here. It is good to know I’m not alone in not being fond of dealing with all the papers.
