Nope, I haven’t been hiding under a rock. I haven’t run away to some exotic locale for the winter (I wish!). Thankfully, we haven’t been sick and nothing awful has happened. I haven’t even been super busy aside from the normal holiday hustle and bustle. However, our poor desktop computer has not been feeling well for a few weeks and this old reliable Windows Vista computer is my blogging buddy. I just couldn’t get myself to write a post without her by my side.
As I was trying to come to grips with the fact that it was probably (way past time) time to say Hasta La Vista to our old Windows Vista computer, she showed sparks of life today. I decided to be brave and went ahead and updated a few programs and well, she lives to see another day!
A few posts that were swirling around in my head but will have to wait as they are now a bit out of season:
The joys of having older kids during the holidays. I may not have been able to do as much (okay, none) shopping in the action figure aisle of our local toy store but I wasn’t driving myself crazy moving an Elf on a Shelf around either.
Christmas Confessions (If you struggled to put on that happy, happy face through the holidays, just know that you weren’t alone).
A few posts that I’m excited to share with you in the next few days:
I met my goal! I read 52 books in 2014. If I can finish The Hobbit today it will be 53. I think. I had a list started yesterday and then, the computer crashed but I was at 52 when it happened. I plan to share the list with you.
My word of the year for 2015. I’m biased but I think it is a good one and it just fits. I also have been collecting quotes that pertain to my 2014 year of the word (action) all year and want to share those with you as well.
Why I am breaking up with Target. I realized that I didn’t do any of my Christmas shopping there this year! It’s a strange day when I’d rather go to Wal-Mart.
Our New Year’s Eve plans are fairly low-key for 2014. We are going out to dinner with friends (and leaving our kids behind–one of the joys of having older children!) and then simply celebrating at home as a family. J has set up a Minecraft fireworks display for us to see at midnight when 2015 arrives.
