Sometimes these busy fall weeks just sneak up on me. Like the upcoming one. Monday night is free as is our entire Friday. That’s it though!
And that’s why I’m putting together my Happy Homemaker Monday post on a Sunday afternoon when I should be doing so many other things. I’ll be glad I took the time to do it I know. Amended to say: get started as I’m finishing on Monday night.
As always, I’m linking up with our host, Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom. So thankful she does this each week to inspire us to be thoughtful about our weeks.
Breakfast Time, What Is On The Plate This Morning
J made chocolate chip muffins! Then a bit later, I had some pumpkin yogurt as I felt the need for a bit more protein. It will be probably be yogurt again on Monday morning as I work unless I wake up in time to make scrambled eggs.
Right Now I Am
Working on this blog post and trying to decide if I want to go the store before, after, or possibly during the Chiefs game. I would like to go when it’s less crowded which probably means during the game (I’m sure they’ll have it on the overhead speakers so we can listen). UPDATE: I went to during the game and can I just say “stupid Steelers!” Ugh. Good thing they are my 2nd favorite team.
Looking Around The House
It really hasn’t changed much since last Monday! Another layer of dirt, perhaps?
On Today’s To-Do List
Go to grocery store Make sure we have clean laundry for tomorrow (don’t forget PE clothes for J!)
- Go over weekly calendar just to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything
- Figure out some new lunchbox ideas for the boys
Really need to get on this one! I did download The Box Under The Bed so I could read the story included from Carrie Ann Alexis (one of our Happy Homemaker Monday fellow bloggers). I read it and loved it! Now to decide if this chicken is brave enough for the rest of the stories in the collection.
On The TV Today
We watched some of The Voice and we’ll probably watch whatever is on after that.
The Weather Outside Is
too dark to tell now. It was a beautiful and sunny fall day though. A bit chilly to start but just warm enough by the afternoon. I think the whole week is supposed to be a repeat of that.
On The Menu This Week

If I Have A Few Minutes To Myself, I Will
REST! I have the same dry cough, it might be allergies or I might be coming down with something stuff that I get every year at this time.
New Recipe I Tried Or Want To Try This Week
Unfortunately, the chicken manicotti from last week was not a big hit. It needed a lot more sauce, I thought. Candy apples are on the agenda for this week or weekend (I think I finally have all the supplies).
One Of My Simple Pleasures
Favorite Photo From The Camera Or Internet
They cut G’s band competition short on Saturday because this storm was rolling into town. They skipped the finals portion but it was okay because our high school won best overall visual, 1st in their division, and placed 2nd over all based on the preliminary scores. Not too shabby!
Good health for family and friends as well as peace for all.
Quote For The Week
Be Kind; Everyone You Meet Is Fighting A Hard Battle.

So how was your Monday and what’s on your agenda for the rest of the week?
