Happy Homemaker Tuesday, Day After Christmas

Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. Our Christmas was nice and relaxed.

We had my husband’s siblings over here in the morning before we joined my family at my brother’s home in the afternoon. We didn’t see everyone we would have wanted to see but were able to truly relax and enjoy visiting with the family we did see.

Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom didn’t do her link up this week but I wanted to go ahead and do a weekly planning post.  I think I’ve managed to join in or at least post one every week in 2017 and didn’t want to miss the last week of the year.

Breakfast Time…What Is On The Plate This Morning

Resisted the urge to eat leftover Christmas cookies and candy and had cinnamon spice oatmeal instead.  Also, coffee.  Still drinking the coffee.

Right Now I Am

Still in my pajamas, working on this post, half-listening to the local news, and thinking of going to get my coffee cup.

The Weather Outside

It’s snowing! We also had a little snow on Christmas Eve (in the morning).  So it was a very light white Christmas yesterday. The snow this morning is pretty, the 9 degree temperature not so much.

Looking Around The House

It’s the day after Christmas! It’s a mess but the good kind of mess.

On My To-Do List

  1. Take down the Christmas tree
  2. Organize the Christmas ornaments and decorations for next year
  3. Pay bills
  4. Work on blog (Thinking of writing the Christmas posts I didn’t have time to write this year and just going ahead and scheduling them for next December)
  5. Enjoy Christmas break with my boys

On The TV Today

Not sure. J gave my husband all the Die Hard movies for Christmas so maybe one of those. Or whatever suits my mood on Netflix. Need to watch the rest of the Fuller House episodes.

On The Menu This Week

Definitely going to be a clean out the fridge/freezer/pantry week around here! Of course, I still need to go the store at some point for produce/milk.

MONDAY:  On Christmas we ate: biscuits and gravy (breakfast), frozen pizza (early lunch), and then had ham/brisket, potatoes, corn, rolls, crunchy coleslaw, and fruit salad at my brother’s home. And of course, way too many cookies, candies, pies, and cakes.

TUESDAY:  Tacos  (maybe leftover chili for lunch)

WEDNESDAY: Pork Chops (maybe macaroni and cheese for lunch)

THURSDAY: Maybe chicken strips (maybe hot dogs for lunch)

FRIDAY: Whatever we can dig out of the freezer or pantry (maybe mozzarella sticks for lunch)

If I Have A Few Minutes To Myself, I Will

Light a few candles, turn on the fireplace, and just relax!

New Recipe I Tried Or Want To Try

Not sure if it qualifies as a new recipe but I made my mom’s Ego Batter Buns (rolls) on Christmas and they actually turned out right. Yeast based bread recipes usually don’t go my way. I was excited. Thinking I’ll share the recipe on here later.

Looking Forward To This Week

Not setting any alarms and sleeping until whenever I wake up for the day!

Quote For The Week

One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.  (Andy Rooney)  *****

Do you get some time off this week? How do you plan to spend it?
