I woke up this morning in a panic at 8a.m. I’m super late for work!
Then, I remembered. It’s Sunday. The panic subsided although it left me a bit out of sorts for much of the morning.
I am, however, working (hopefully on time) tomorrow. So, it’s yet another Sunday night edition of my Happy Homemaker Monday post.
Be sure and check out all the links over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom, blog of our host Sandra. Look for my linking activities and visits later in the evening on Monday.
On to the categories!
Breakfast Time…What Is On The Plate This Morning
Workday breakfast means either scrambled eggs or Chobani Flip Yogurt. Work days starting prior to 8a.m. definitely mean Chobani Flip Yogurt, probably peach cobbler flavor.
On My To-Do List
- Return books to the library, I seem to have a problem doing this
- Decide/Finalize plans for a small vacation (hopefully)
- Get J’s haircut (G had one today)
- Sort out rest of April magazines/recycle them
- Grocery store!
- Start figuring out a simple Bunco menu since I’m hosting this month
Currently Reading
Since I stalled out on reading The Naughty Nineties: The Triumph Of The American Libido by David Friend, I picked up a different library book today. So far Better Than Before: Mastering The Habits Of Our Every Day Lives by Gretchen Rubin is a much easier read. Now that the weather’s agreeable enough to sit outside and read, I’m hoping to do a lot better in this category.
On The TV This Week
Hopefully, less than last week but maybe not. Perhaps, I’ll just set a goal to stay off Netflix for the week and weekend. On Regular TV (too much): The Voice and Good Girls on Monday, The Flash and The 100 (completely sucked back in and may or may not have caught up on 3 seasons over on Netflix during the week/weekend). Wednesday’s a band concert so nothing unless we get back in time to catch the end of Seal Team…rest of the week, nothing that I can’t miss.
The Weather Outside Is
Spring! It’s here! We had a very quick and very light rain shower this afternoon but most of the day was sunny, windy, and in the 60s. Another windy day tomorrow but most of the week’s going to be sunny and in the low 70s. Chance of a thunderstorm on Thursday. After so much snow and cold, I’d welcome a good spring thunderstorm. Especially if it would help wash away some of the Bradford pear tree blooms. They’re beautiful but stinky!
And not native to our state. Give me a Red bud or Dogwood any day.
On The Menu This Week
No idea, as usual. Let’s look at last week…
MONDAY: Maybe Taco Salads We walked to Taco Bell (Taco salads would have been better but I was beat)
TUESDAY: Bacon Wrapped Chicken Somehow, we ended up having bacon and biscuits (I had a salad with bacon)
WEDNESDAY: Roast in the crock pot
THURSDAY: Shrimp from box in freezer and baked potatoes Pork chops and baked potatoes
FRIDAY: We went out for Chinese food (I worked 10:15 to 5 instead of until 3:30)
SATURDAY: An on your own day, hamburgers, popcorn chicken, I think J had a Lunchable
SUNDAY: We had spaghetti
Hmm, last week was a bit of a mess. Let’s see if we do better with a busier week on the horizon…
MONDAY: Chicken legs, fruit salad *I work 7:45-4:00*
TUESDAY: Tacos, maybe taco salad *I work 8:00-4:00*
WEDNESDAY: G’s choice, maybe Subway (tradition) *G has a band concert*
THURSDAY: French Toast, Sausage (maybe…but I’m still craving shrimp or fish) *I have a coffee date with a friend in a.m.*
FRIDAY: Hamburgers *I work 8:00-4:15* *J has plans for a friend to stay the night*
If I Have A Few Minutes To Myself I Will
NOT waste them staring mindlessly at my phone or on Facebook or watching too many episodes of any show on Netflix. I’ll go outside, read my book, pet the cat, or talk to my family (maybe if I can get them off their devices).
What I’m Knitting, Sewing, Or Creating
Nothing yet but there are signs of my flower garden returning.
Can’t wait to get started on it. So glad I took some photos last year so I can try to match leaves and not pull up flowers instead of weeds.
New Recipe I Tried Or Want To Try This Week
A bit stalled out in this category. Need some fresh ideas for spring dinners…
Favorite Photo From The Camera
Noticed a random tulip in the yard while sitting on the porch taking in the sunshine…
Quote For The Week

Thank you! Yes, finally, no more snow! Never been so excited about waking up to a thunderstorm 🙂 And now the sun’s out. Hope you have a great week as well!
Peach is always my go to yogurt flavor too! Work weeks are hard on the menu – at least you walked to Taco Bell 😀 Love those tulips coming up. Have a WONDERFUL week.

Yes, work weeks do make menu planning a bit trickier. Just the one tulip, I didn’t plant it! Hope you have a great week as well!
Oh, man! I hate mornings like that, Jean! Total panic is right!!! I have yet to try the Chobani flips. I haven’t even seen them yet and need to make a point of looking for them. Love the little striped tulip. So pretty! Have a blessed rest of the week and weekend ahead, my friend! <3

Late with replying. I do love the Chobani flips although some of them do have a fair amount of sugar in addition to the protein. Hope you’re in the middle of a wonderful weekend!
Hi Doll! Finally popping by to say hi!! I love the Chobani flips and Annie does too. Yum! So nice to see Spring showing up – those photos are beautiful. I hope you’ve been having a wonderful week my Girl!

They do make the perfect on the go breakfast when time is short. I’m so excited for it to be proper spring. Today was perfect around here, almost hot even (as a summer person, I loved it!). Hopefully, you’ve had a wonderful Saturday!
