30 Days Of Summer, My Favorite Summer Drink

Happy First Day of Summer! Welcome to the very first link up in the 30 Days of Summer blogging series!

After struggling with a bit of writer’s block all day Wednesday, I’ve decided to keep things simple.  I’m sharing a tiny tip type post about my current favorite summer drink.

Of course, the best thing to drink in the summer (or any season) is water.  Sometimes though…summer calls for soda. I try very hard not to drink much pop (soda, pop, soda pop, a rose by any other name).  However, I do love the stuff!

One drink I’ve found that makes me feel like I’m drinking a Coke even though I’m not is the Izze sparkling juice drinks. I mentioned on Monday my current favorite flavor is blackberry.

Does it get any more summer than blackberry anything?

I did find something to add to give my blackberry soda that tiny something extra.  A tiny drop of peppermint oil turns it into a truly special drink for me.  All I do is take the cap off the bottle and put a drop of the oil right into my soda.   And then, I enjoy my summer drink!

Note: You can buy these in cans as well as the glass bottles. I just prefer the glass bottles. Plus it provides me with a bit of nostalgia from when Coke came in glass bottles.

What’s your favorite summer drink?  Anyone have a recipe for a type of green tea drink that tastes good cold?

Oh, and just for a bit of extra summer fun, what do you call it? Pop? Soda? Coke? Soda Pop? Something else?

Hope you’ll join us in our very first 30 days of summer link up below. If we did this right, your link should show up both here on So Not Organized as well as on Rebecca’s Hearth and Home.

I stopped drinking pop completely in September of 2017. I had never heard of the Izze until you mentioned it. Will check it out and might give it a try as an occasional treat. And, yes! Blackberry! YUM!

Well, Jean, we did it! Our first posts are up and I THINK the link-up is working on both our sites. I’m excited to see what the future brings with all this and, I can honestly say, that this is the most excited I can ever remember being over summer!

Blessings to you, my friend! Now it’s off to the grocery store! (For us, that’s a 40 mile round trip minimum, so not always an easy task! LOL!)

    Talk to you later! <3

I do enjoy them and for me, the price (they aren’t the cheapest!) keeps them stay an occasional treat. Added bonus, my boys won’t touch them, LOL. I wouldn’t make it if I had to travel 40 mile round trip to the grocery store. We’re quite spoiled around here with a choice of 4 grocery stores (counting Wal-Mart market place which I wouldn’t except my husband insists on going there a lot) within 10 minutes. Hope you enjoy your day!

Hi Jean – Happy Summer! 😉

I do love a good sparkling cold soda (I think lots of folks say pop in my area – but I like the word soda better) on a hot day. 😉 I’ve been trying to be better about drinking mineral water when I want something fizzy so it’s not as unhealthy for me. I love the LaCroix brand.

I love the idea of putting mint essential oil in there. I may have to try that with iced tea too! Fun joining in on the first day. 😉 I hope to pop in a couple times a week.

Blessings to you! Off to say hi to Rebecca and link there too. xoxo

My dad used to call it soda pop so I’m a mess with what to call things 😉 Oh, I didn’t even think of putting the mint in the iced tea. Something new to try! Thanks for joining us with your post, can’t wait to hop over there and read it.
