Happy Homemaker Monday Except It’s Tuesday

We spent the weekend with family in Oklahoma so most of yesterday we spent on the road. Taking time on this pretty Tuesday morning to still go ahead and plan my week.

Not too late to join in and plan your week as well. Don’t forget to visit the link up hosted by Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom.

The Weather

Sunset in the Flint Hills of Kansas

Fairly nice out there this morning. Not unbearably hot at all. Supposed to be in high 80’s today and then mid 80’s the rest of the week. AND is that 70’s I see for our weekend? Not sure what I think about that one other than I know a few people who will love it.  Chances of rain on Thursday and the weekend, seems pretty slight though.

Right Now I Am

Ignoring a few things while I put this post together and finish my coffee.

I need to wake up a bit more. Just agreed to work for a few hours this afternoon, not sure why I didn’t say no. My mind is spinning with all the things I (still) need to do around here. Hoping we have something in the freezer/fridge so I can pull together dinner without needing to go to the store until tonight.

On My Reading Pile

A few pages left in The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking. I’m fairly certain it’s probably overdue at the library despite my renewing all my books. And I started an e-book while we were on our way to Oklahoma: A Criminal Defense by William L. Myers, Jr.  It’s holding my attention more than I expected.

On My TV

Not sure. Enjoyed watching a few cable shows I seldom get to see (mostly HGTV things) while in Oklahoma. And the premiere of Shark Week with Shaq.

Our TV is antenna and Netflix so probably whatever catches my eye there. Or I’ll just read.

On The Menu This Week

A weekend away from my own kitchen left me a bit inspired to cook dinner again. Of course, I also need to go grocery shopping. And work a few days. Those two things may interfere with my inspiration.

TUESDAY: I’m hoping we have all the spaghetti stuff in there but taco salads also sound good & I know I have taco meat in the freezer (I work 1-3:30)

WEDNESDAY:  Steak bites, baked potatoes, salad (G has a band cook out at 5:00 and doesn’t care for this meal)

THURSDAY: Fish (the frozen from the grocery store kind), crunch coleslaw or salad,   (I work 7:45-3:45)

FRIDAY:  Spaghetti or Tacos depending on what we have today (I work 7:45-1:00)

On My To-Do List

  1. Finish unpacking, clearing off the kitchen table, couch
  2. La-La-La-Laundry!
  3. All the stuff I didn’t finish last week
  4. Write posts for 30 Days Of Summer series
  5. Mow Lawn

In The Craft Basket

No changes from last week.

Looking Forward To

Just being at home for a few days.

Looking Around The House

I see lots of little projects but mostly I just need to put things away and do a good cleaning.

Quote For The Week

I get a moment of happiness e-mails from Gretchen Rubin and this quote was on one a few weeks back. I really love it and think it goes so well with my goal of making our house feel a bit more like a home again:

A comfortable home is a source of great happiness. It ranks immediately after health and a good conscience.  (Sydney Smith)

What’s on your agenda for the week?

I know the feeling of being in your own home after traveling…
It is so nice to cook again!

We had Subway the other night, and it was delicious!
Oh…and Shaq and Shark week is soooo good!!!

We weren’t even gone that long but it’s so nice to be in my own kitchen and know where everything is and make our family (kinda) healthy food for dinner. No salad with our spaghetti as I still need to grocery shop. Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday!
