It’s a new week and a new month! Getting closer to my favorite seasons of spring and fall.
Glad to have time this morning to type up this weekly planning post before heading off to work. Linking up as always with our host, Sandra from Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom.
On to the categories…
Missouri. We had the Antarctic visit on Wednesday, followed by a sunny breezy weekend with a high of 60 degrees yesterday. Today? Started at 50 degrees and now, a dreary looking 30 degrees with a feels like 19 degrees windchill. Tomorrow and Wednesday, chances of freezing rain, maybe some snow. Sunny and 38 (not quite as warm) by Saturday.
Right Now I Am
Savoring being at home to work on this post. I’ll have to leave for work in about an hour but it’s not a full day. Honestly, I was getting a bit burned out being in the same classroom all week. While I do my best and of course, love the kids, that particular classroom is not a good fit for me. Even though I’m going back there for 2 days this week, at least I don’t have to get up early.
So many random thoughts. Been thinking about my work and if I should say I won’t do that classroom (it’s a 2 year-old room and not exactly what I signed on to do) anymore. Still pondering.
On a completely different thought train, realizing the reason I’m not minding winter so much is I’m in no hurry for the school year-end to arrive for my high school senior. Excited for him and his friends yet it’s all extremely bittersweet. And I’ll have my youngest starting high school while my oldest goes off to college. Yes, I’m happy to stay here in the snowy days of winter and just enjoy a while longer.
On My Reading Pile
Finished Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. I really liked this book and the depth of the characters. My review is here on Goodreads if you’re interested. I requested her other book from the library. While waiting, I’m reading Dark Winter by A.J. Tata, can already tell I’m going to enjoy it.
On My TV
We had a bit of a TV weekend around here. Of course, we finished it off by watching the “Super-bore” aka the Superbowl. Well-played defensive games in any sport are just not as exciting to watch. That said, the commercials and half-time show were also disappointments (only reason most KC fans watched ;)).
More exciting things we watched over the weekend, lots of movies! Ant-man and the Wasp, Red Sparrow, and The Last Jedi. Of the three, Red Sparrow, a Russian spy movie was the best.
On My Menu
Not really sure since I am in need (as always) of a grocery store trip. Lots of carry-over meals so it may work.
MONDAY: Ham steaks and potatoes unless I stop and grab a grocery store chicken on the way home from work *I work 11-4:15*
TUESDAY: Lasagna *G has pep band* *I work 9:30-1:30*
WEDNESDAY: No idea….will decide after going to grocery store
FRIDAY: Brisket (Husband’s birthday, family coming over)
On My To-Do List
Pay balance on upcoming trip
- Grocery store
- Write and schedule blog posts
- Get husband’s birthday card, maybe another present
- Mail other February birthday cards
- Pay bills
- Call in G’s absence from school from Friday (we went on a college visit & I forgot to call)
- Clean house to company ready standards
- Continue to clear out paper clutter
- Find February candle scent
Not really creating but decorating the house a bit for Valentine’s Day just to give it a bit of pep.
A bit of a mess but my small Valentine’s Day decor makes me smile.
On My Prayer List
Friends and family dealing with illnesses, all the government workers, neighbors, strangers, everyone reading this blog.
Quote For The Week
It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done. (Vincent Van Gogh)
What’s on your agenda for the week ahead?
