Happy Homemaker Monday, No Fooling It’s April 1st!

Happy Monday! It’s April. When did that happen?

Worked this morning, so it’s an afternoon/evening edition of my planning post. This is a busy week and I’m glad to take some time to catch my breath and plan it out a bit.

Linking up with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom. Go check out her blog, it’s a great one and her link up is such a fun and encouraging way to plan the weeks.

The Weather

Well, it snowed Saturday morning, then we had thunderstorms in the afternoon. However, yesterday the sun came back out and while chilly, it put us back on track to spring. Supposed to hit the 70’s for later this week. Maybe more rain on the weekend.

On My Reading Pile

Need to finish Outer Order, Inner Calm but took a break from it to read a couple lighter fiction works. Read a Young Adult selection called Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige. I enjoyed it though her Dorothy Must Die series was better. And I finally read The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Movies Or Shows I Watched This Weekend

Broke down and watched the Triple Frontier movie on Netflix. Personally, didn’t think it was that great. Pretty bad. Also, watched the movie of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. Plain silly fun, I enjoyed it a lot more. And then, I decided to make it a 3 movie weekend and also watched 90 Minutes in Heaven, a wonderful testimony and great book (book is naturally better than the movie).

On My TV

Still just watching God Friended Me and SEAL team as my main two shows. Everything else is sort of hit or miss with me.

On The Menu

April Fool’s a day early here. I roasted my chicken upside down on Sunday. Oops!

Busy week means pretty simple menu!

MONDAY: hot dogs and french fries (probably some fruit somewhere) *I worked 7:15-4*

TUESDAY: Spaghetti, salad *I work 8-4*

WEDNESDAY: Depending on mood, BLT’s or Sesame Ribs in slow cooker *G has early morning band practice* *I have a 4:00 hair appt* *We all have a band meeting at 7:00*

THURSDAY: Petite steaks (something in freezer), not sure what I’m going to do with them yet. *J has baritone lesson*

FRIDAY: Frozen pizza or fish *G has early morning band practice*

On My To Do List

  1. Pay a few straggler bills
  2. Prepare for upcoming trip
  3. Plan Easter brunch menu
  4. Clean the house!
  5. Target trip
  6. Find dress to wear to some upcoming spring occasions
  7. Get with friend regarding some graduation party planning
  8. Still need to go through the clothes/get out spring/summer things
  9. All the things I can’t currently remember

Creating

The plants are still in the window. Dreaming of my outdoor garden areas, trip to the garden store soon.

Looking Forward To

An upcoming trip.

From The Camera

What I’m Wearing Today

Yellow school tee-shirt, jeans, tennis shoes. Plus a green cardigan sweater since it’s still a bit chilly.

Simple Pleasure

Conversations with preschool kids. Always a lot to learn from them.

Quote For The Week

I hope spring finds you soon! Took a while around here but I think it’s here to stay. So nice to have a rainy day today (instead of snow!). I’ll have to hop over and see what you’ve been up to around there 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful week!

I know what you mean – can you believe we’re in the 2nd quarter of 2019 already? I LOVE your flower pictures – so springy! Sounds like a BUSY week – hope it’s a GREAT one. And that chicken looks perfect to me. My Uncle ALWAYS does the Thanksgiving turkey upside down – really keeps the breasts moist.

No, I really can’t. Winter seemed to last so long and suddenly, we look up and it’s April! Funny you mention how your uncle does the Thanksgiving turkey, seems our family had an argument about just that very thing (thankfully, I get to be in charges of pies) down in Oklahoma last year. Can’t remember who won and whether or not the turkey cooked upside down or not. LOL! Hope you are having a great week so far!
