Happy Homemaker Monday, Late Night Edition

Not sure when I started calling 8:45 PM late night but let’s not dwell on that shall we?  We had a nice weekend with graduation, family gatherings, and breakfast out this morning. One more family gathering tomorrow to enjoy.

Time to plan the week ahead which is thankfully, a little less busy than the previous ones leading up to graduation. Joining in with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom as usual.

The Weather

Let me sum it up in one word: UGH. Thankfully, most of the severe stuff goes around our area (though we did have sirens going Friday night, nothing was close to us really) and we’ve had nice weather for graduation and gatherings between rains. Other areas in the state were hit hard earlier in the week and not quite so lucky. Chance of more thunderstorms tonight, tomorrow, AND Wednesday. Hoping summer and the sun arrive sometime soon. This is not the summer I ordered.

On My Reading Pile

Same book about Harry S. Truman. I’m enjoying it just limited reading time last week. Probably finish it up this week.

Movies Or Shows I Watched This Weekend

Not much. I did start watching season 5 (?, I think) of The Flash and am hooked again. Last season was really not that great but they seem to have turned things around with a better story line again.

On My TV This Week

Probably just going to finish The Flash and then find something new.

On The Menu For This Week

We’ve been so busy and I felt lazy today so no store trip. It’s going to be an eat what’s here until I break and go grocery shopping kind of week.

MONDAY: My husband made pork chops (We had a big breakfast out so none of us were really all that hungry)

TUESDAY: Out to a local pizza place with family

WEDNESDAY: I might throw a roast in the crock pot

THURSDAY: Chicken *J has a baritone lesson*

FRIDAY: Leftovers or tacos maybe

SATURDAY: OUT/We have a graduation party followed by a wedding (not for the same person!)

On My To Do List

  1. Relax
  2. Laundry
  3. Finish cleaning off this desk
  4. Start clearing clutter
  5. Pull the poison ivy that keeps cropping up where my flowers should be
  6. Clean basement bedding
  7. Write some blog posts
  8. J wants to make rock candy to look into what we need for that
  9. Do all the things I’m forgetting (I did finally take those library books back at least!)

Looking Forward To

Dinner out with family tomorrow night, going to a wedding on Saturday night, and mostly sleeping in tomorrow.

Looking Around The House

It looks okay. There are lingering graduation decorations and it could be cleaner but it’s good enough for now.

From The Camera

What I’m Wearing Today

Red tee-shirt with blue and white flowers (patriotic design) and black Capri pants (thought they were navy when I grabbed them) with my floral Crocs.

One Of My Simple Pleasures

Planning out the things I’d like to do with garden areas around the yard.

Quote For The Week

I think this photo I took in D.C. sums it up in regard to our holiday today.

What’s on your agenda for this last (!) week of May?

Sounds like a busy weekend, but a lovely one with lots of memories being made. This weather has been insane! I will be so glad when this stuff is over! Your menus look good and I love this week’s photos! Have a great week ahead, my friend, and try to stay dry! Blessings! <3

It was a great (although yes, busy!) weekend. And can you believe more weather today? At least it stayed dry over night up here. Hope your Tuesday is off to a terrific start!

    Beautiful quote, my friend.
Such excitement and fun around your way.
Loved the first item on your to-do list!
    Think I will join you!

Thank you. It’s been quite the exciting time. I hope you enjoy your Tuesday (and the rest of the week)!

Thank you! The cake was a Dairy Queen ice cream cake straight from their ready-made freezer. I can’t take any credit for the decorating other than making the poor kid at the store counter go back and sprinkle some red confetti on it so it would be the right school colors.

    Hi Sweetie!
Sorry I’m late. Yay countdown is on for a calmer week next week. Lol You have been party central.

I hope the weather gets better and all stays safe. There sure has been lots of scary weather going around the country. Yikes!

Love your photos – especially your inspiration from Washington D.C. – so perfect.
    Blessings to you xoxo

I can’t seem to get caught up around here so it seems like you’re right on time to me 🙂 Even this week’s been busy somehow. And another busy weekend, I’m ready for some slow do nothing days. Our weather has finally improved, not getting too hopeful but it looks like we’ll get TWO sunny days in a row! Time to plant some flowers. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Great post. I don’t know why I love reading about what other people are cooking especially or wearing, but I do. I do love these special family times and there is nothing happier than a wedding. Enjoy it all. And yes that quote says it all…we enjoy our freedoms at great cost to the brave.

I enjoy that as well. Of course, my menus planned often look nothing like the day to day menu around here. Summer really throws it off. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

So so sorry I am so late this week! Playing catch up after a long trip is always a challenge! I’m glad you’re safe from the storms, but that can be so scary waiting them out. Also glad graduation is behind you – CONGRATUALATIONS. I hope it was a GREAT week! I’ll be back to see about this week in a bit LOL

We are quite lucky to be located where the storms tend to always go either just a bit south or just a bit north of us. Thank you, I’m so glad to be done with the graduation stuff. It was a great and exciting time but also a bit stressful. Hope you have a great week and get all caught up from your trip soon!
