Happy Homemaker Monday, Jumping Into June

We jumped right into June over here attending a graduation party and then, a wedding on the very first day. Shopping with family yesterday and now (hopefully) a bit of cleaning today gets us three days into the month. And almost half-way through the year! Not going to dwell on that last bit.

Just going to plan this very first full week of June with the Happy Homemaker Monday post. Linking up as always with Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom where Sandra hosts the Happy Homemaker Monday link up.

The Weather

Saturday, a beautiful sunny day, cloud moved through, it hailed for 15 minutes, rained a bit, and then, was a beautiful sunny afternoon/evening again.

More weirdness…well, actually just more predicted rain but some beautiful days in between. It’s supposed to get hot (just in the 80’s)  today with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, Tuesday, and Wednesday. And then, back to the upper 70’s for the rest of the week. And another pretty weekend.

On My Reading Pile

I’ve really slipped on this. The SAME book as the last two weeks, the one about Harry S Truman. Now that the weather’s improving, I need to get myself sitting outside and reading and *away* from Netflix!

Movies Or Shows I Watched This Weekend

Finished The Flash. Finally watched the Ted Bundy movie with Zac Efron (he’s a great actor!). I do think it gave the movie better perspective to have watched the other documentary, The Ted Bundy Tapes, first.  And I’m going to blame Sandra for getting me hooked on Lucifer as I already finished up season 1 (probably when I should have been reading).

On My TV This Week

There are lots of seasons of Lucifer so probably that.

On The Menu For This Week

Not even going to pretend it might be a less busy week because I know what happens when I say that. I’m back to semi planning lunch just to make sure we have lunch options here now that the boys are off for the summer.

MONDAY: Steak bites, baked potatoes, and salad  *taco salads for lunch maybe*

TUESDAY: Spaghetti, meatballs, and salad *leftover steak bites/hot dogs depending for lunch*

WEDNESDAY: Roast in the crock pot, cucumbers, french fries *PBJ, chips for lunch* *I have dinner plans, a mini friend reunion*

THURSDAY: Chicken of some sort, maybe bacon wrapped chicken and baked potatoes *I work 8:15-3:45* *J has a baritone lesson* *Mac and cheese for lunch*

FRIDAY: Pizza (we have a free coupon) or maybe breakfast for dinner *I work 8:15-3:45*

Saturday/Sunday: Leftovers/OUT

On My To Do List

  1. Pay Bills
  2. Clean the house
  3. Mow the lawn
  4. Pretty much everything from last week (especially the part about writing blog posts)
  5. Make sure G follows up on setting up orientation for college (because it involves us)
  6. Make plans to do something fun with the boys, maybe go to a movie or go out for ice cream
  7. Get wedding shower gift for wedding shower I’m attending on Sunday afternoon
  8. Block out some unavailable dates for my work so I get some “free days” this summer
  9. Get some new tennis shoes!

Looking Forward To

Catching up with friends on Wednesday night, we’ve all been friends since high school, two of us were in kindergarten together. And with busy lives going in separate directions we don’t see each other nearly often enough!

Looking Around The House

I went to bed with a messy kitchen last night (ugh, why did I do that?), J’s asleep on the couch, and it needs a good cleaning over all. Planning to give it a bit of attention today (as long as I don’t get called into work).

From The Camera

What I’m Wearing Today

Right now, I’m wearing the high school band tee-shirt and jean shorts I threw on to go put out my bird feeder and bring up the neighbor’s empty trash bin. I haven’t showered yet so I’ll change after that. No idea what I’m going to wear though.

Yes, I’m not sure how the weeks keep staying so busy. Seems like if I’m not busy with work, then I’m busy with social stuff (not bad but still a different kind of busy). Yes, the weather certainly does keep us on our toes. Sitting here now after doing yard work and planting a few flowers trying to decide if it will actually rain again (looks like it might) or I should go ahead and water them. Hope you have a great week as well!

Hi Jean, great photos especially the butterfly. This week has been spent sorting things out after our trip away. My husband and son have been suffering a virus during the week and this weekend (respectively). I’m hoping teen 2 and myself don’t catch it, particular as he’s in the midst of his GCSEs at school. All the best with your plans for the week. Cathy x

Thank you! Oh no, sorry to hear of the sickness in your house. Hope everyone feels better soon and that you and your other son stay healthy!

Sounds like a busy start to the month, but a good one! We got the hail down here, too…hail and heavy rain for a short time, but that’s been all in like four days now. What a blessing! Your menus look great and I love this week’s pics…especially the peony! Absolutely beautiful! Have a blessed week, my friend! <3

Yes, the month is in full swing and only 3 days in, how is that possible? All good stuff though. That’s my neighbor’s peony. I didn’t think any of our backyard peonies were ever going to bloom. Not sure mine is going to at all this year. It looks as though we might get another day without any rain! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Our weather was weird there for a while but it’s great so far this week. I had a great night catching up except one friend didn’t mention she’d been sick the previous 2 days until later. And then, I ended up sick over the weekend. Not sure if I can officially blame her though since I do work with preschool children. Still no fun being sick in the summer (or while working). I’ll have to hop over and see how your week is going.
