Happy Homemaker Monday, Time to Get Back on Track

Happy Monday! After a weird mid-week start to things last week, I’m happy to get back on track this week starting things off my a normal timed Happy Homemaker Monday post.

Joining in as always with Sandra, who hosts the Happy Homemaker Monday link up over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

The Weather

Feels like August out there this morning. A bit hot and humid. J’s been getting sunburned at band camp. He’s trying new 70 SPF this morning so hopefully, it works better. Slight chance of thunderstorms the rest of the week with highs in the mid 80’s and low 90’s.

On The Breakfast Plate

Chobani Flip Key Lime Pie yogurt & coffee.

Right Now I Am

Typing up this post around piles of papers and stuff removed from the desk drawers yesterday. Desk is empty but I still have the “no idea where to put the stuff I took out of it” problem.

On My Bedside Table

A book, the box of Ziploc space saver bags, and a tee-shirt

On My Reading Pile

I really need to get some new books as well as finish From The Ground Up by Howard Schulz. It’s on my to-do list for today.

Movies Or Shows I Watched This Weekend

Please don’t judge. I did lots o’ TV watching this weekend. Must have needed the downtime. I watched: Season 3 of Jessica Jones on Netflix. Then, hopped over to Amazon Prime to watch Good Omens (so fun!) before returning to Netflix for season 2 of Stranger Things. Now, I only have 3 episodes left in season 3 of Stranger Things.

On My TV This Week

Plan to finish Stranger Things and then, I might watch season 3 of Humans since Amazon finally added it. After that, I hope I’ll have found a book or two to read instead.

On The Menu This Week

Took advantage of being out of the house early to drop J off at band camp and went grocery shopping early today.

MONDAY: hamburgers and hot dogs *J has band camp 8-4*

TUESDAY: chicken strips *J has band camp 8-4*

WEDNESDAY: Steak strip salad *J has band camp/freshman orientation* *I have a hair appointment*

THURSDAY: Ribs in the slow cooker

FRIDAY: Taco salads or Rotisserie Chicken salad

On My To Do List

  1. Finish cleaning off/out this desk (need more storage containers)
  2. Find out why the maintenance required light is on in the car
  3. Take back library books
  4. Go with G to get stuff he needed to take to college
  5. Usual clean house/do laundry
  6. Get household supplies (maybe while out with G) like toothpaste
  7. Write more than one blog post this week
  8. Price/buy deck sealer (and then, seal the deck)

Looking Forward To

Finishing this desk project, spending some extra time with the boys this week

From The Camera

I didn’t do a very good job picking up the camera last week….the pictures in my post are still from our trip out-of-town.

What I’m Wearing Today

Navy blue top with tiny gold dots, khaki linen shorts, tennis shoes

One Of My Simple Pleasures

When we can all sit down and eat dinner together, spending time with family

Quote For The Week

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do…but how much love we put into that action. (Mother Teresa)

What’s on your agenda for this week?

I’m so close to finishing up the third season of Jessica Jones. Mike and I watched some of it tonight, I think we have three episodes left. We stated Good Omen’s but Mike wasn’t really that into it so I’ll have to make time to finish it on my own. I just love David Tennant!

Sounds like you have quite the busy week ahead. Good luck on getting all the things done you need too.

I really liked season 3 of Jessica Jones, sorry to hear that Netflix cancelled it. Of course, did they have to do that with all the Marvel shows b/c of the whole Disney thing? I’m not sure. Good Omens is also a book, I would like to read it after watching the show. Yes, I also love David Tennant! Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday so far!

Thank you! It was actually from last week when we were out of town. The sky was so pretty that afternoon. I’m reading books this week to make up for it, LOL! Hope you have a great week as well!

Hey, Jean! Glad your back on track and your week is starting out normal. As usual, I’m running behind! Your pictures are great! I really like the one of the fish swirling around overhead! Hope you’re having a great week and enjoying your summer! I can’t believe how fast it’s passing this year! Blessings, my friend! <3

That’s a very good quote, we rush around so much and are busy, busy, busy. I’m sitting looking at a lot of rain at the moment. Britain appears to be due a stormy battering this weekend. After church on Sunday we ‘were’ all due to visit the beach for the afternoon…
70 spf wow! Enjoy the weekend. Cx

Sorry the rain foiled your beach plans, hopefully, you’ll get a sunny day for it soon. The 70 spf (and a rainy day) helped things. I’m did much better with my second child going through band camp vs. my first one when it didn’t even occur to me to send sunscreen until the second day. Oops. Hope you get a chance to enjoy your weekend despite those storms. So far, it looks like we have a hot one around here.

I love your “feels like August out there” description. August is my least favorite month and I find myself wishing for it to speed by so fall can start only to find myself wishing it would slow back down when September rolls around. PERFECT inspiration! I’m running late this week (seems like a lot lately), hope it’s been a good one for you!

Last week already seems like a big blur and I didn’t even work. Now I’m wondering what I actually did do last week, surely something. Hope you are having a great Monday so far!
