Happy Homemaker Monday, Still At Home

Our area’s original stay at home order expires on Friday! Exciting until I remember they’ve extended it until May 15. SIGH. And the city has already announced the local pool won’t open this year (not that we went all that often).

So it’s time to plan another week at home. Glad to still have these posts even if my plans look so much different than usual. A sad part of my week is each Sunday when my calendar reminders arrive full of things we don’t go do anymore. No baritone lesson for J tonight, no bunco for me on Tuesday (though we are trying to plan some sort of virtual get-together), no regular social outings for my college kid, and no school events either.

However, the sun is shining, it is spring time, and there’s enough cleaning to do around here to last a lifetime (please, please let this end before I have to do that much cleaning!)

Joining in as always with our host, Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom.

The Weather

It’s finally going to feel like spring time this week! Highs in the upper 60’s most the week and we might hit the 70’s on Thursday. Rainy day chance on Wednesday (Earth day).

How I Am Feeling This Morning

I didn’t sleep well overnight so a bit tired. Still got up and showered, got dressed, and well that’s it. Helped some but might break down and think about a nap later today.

On My Mind

The things I’d like to do today and how my energy level doesn’t exactly match my list. Missing my work a little more this week. I’m usually asked to help with the Earth day celebrations, sigh. Now I’m not even sure they’ll need me for my previously scheduled days in mid-May.

On My To Do List

  1. Everything (yes, all of it) from last week
  2. Clean the house
  3. Have J clean his room
  4. Get the garden ready for some seeds/plants
  5. Mow the front lawn (maybe)

On My Breakfast Plate

Strawberry cheesecake flavored Chobani Flip yogurt, coffee

On My Reading Pile

Checked out The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson (e-book) from the library. It started off pretty slowly but it’s starting to improve. I’m going to read it and then watch the movie on Amazon.

TV Viewing

Still need to finish season 5 of Arrested Development. The last two seasons aren’t quite as finessed as the first 3.  For fun or because of boredom, I watched the movie Total Recall over the weekend (the old one, not the new one). I’ve also started re-watching my all time favorite show, Fringe.

On The Menu This Week

All subject to change based on mood, whether or not I go ahead and organize the freezer, and the whims of all the other people around here.

MONDAY: Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad (lunch: grilled cheese)

TUESDAY: taco salads (lunch: open-faced meatball subs)

WEDNESDAY: slow cooker pineapple pork loin (lunch: leftover broccoli/chicken/rice) *Earth Day!

THURSDAY: BLT’s, french fries (lunch: scrambled eggs)

FRIDAY: Free for all day, I’m not cooking! (lunch: peanut butter & honey on toast)

From The Camera

A few captures from a walk around the block and a much too tame squirrel from our backyard.

Looking Around The House

It’s a cat hair catastrophe! Unless we have a second (possibly third) cat living here. Also, needs a good cleaning. On today’s agenda.

Chore I’m Not Looking Forward To Today Or This Week

Helping to inspire J to clean his room. It needs a serious airing out.

To Relax This Week, I Will

Spend lots of time outside in the sunshine!

On My Prayer List

All the school kids missing their friends, teachers, and especially for those who school was a safe place. Friends. Family. Strangers.

Quote For The Week

Nature is not a place to visit. It is home. (Gary Snyder)

Do you plan to celebrate Earth day?

Gorgeous photos! I’m glad you’re at least getting outside to enjoy the weather a bit. Life certainly has changed all around. My calendar has never been so empty either. And I love your “subject to change” warning on your menu – too cute! I hope you have a GREAT week.

Thank you! I find that getting out and just walking around the front and backyard even helps my mood so much. Hope you have a great week as well!

I hear you, Jean! My energy level doesn’t match my list either. In fact, I’m just about plum tuckered out and I’ve still got a mountain of work on my ‘want to get done today’ list…but…some of it might have to wait. Love the pics…especially the squirrel…and, yes, I hope this shut down is over soon. It’s getting ridiculous! Have a great rest of the week! Blessings!

Yes, somehow my to-do list from today morphed into making banana bread muffins and sitting the rest of the day reading my book. Well, I guess I also did somewhat clean the kitchen a bit. Sure do miss getting out and about without giving it a second (Or third or fourth) thought. Hope you have a wonderful week as well!

Nice photos, yummy menu! Is J a teen by any chance? I also need to inspire Mr 14 to air his room out. I am not sure why he is so opposed to fresh air and sunshine, closet vampire maybe? I hope you have a great week!

Wish it was warm enough to spend time outside. Loved the millenium series books – hope you enjoy them too.
    Have a great week

It does make a difference although it brings frustrations in another sense of wanting to go and do but not being able to really justify the things I want to go and do. Glad to know you enjoyed the books, I’ve heard such great things about them but did worry when I couldn’t really get into it at first. Hope you are having a happy Tuesday!
