I think we’re getting a bit of a fall preview around here. Cool, rainy mornings, steamy afternoons when the sun returns. This morning is more rain. It did cool off over night and is only 75 out there right now.
Ended up with an unexpected day off yesterday. Rain meant my husband also had a day at home. Some rainy days are nice and some lead to cabin fever and bickering. SIGH. At least, I had a chance to clean up the house a bit. That helped my mood some.
I have to work until closing later today and work a full open to closing time kind of day tomorrow. So, I thought I’d get a What’s Going on Wednesday (ha! I know it’s Thursday) post up while I had a chance.
Here’s the yuck pandemic related stuff….
Numbers and COVID-19 Info for Our Area
Cases statewide: 46,750
Total deaths: 1,220
PCR tested: 660,899 (fancy term for nasal swab testing)
Serology tested: 58,833 (fancy term for blood test for antibodies)
*They’ve changed the reporting on these numbers. Now dividing out the two types of tests. Actually, the whole website is updated and in a dashboard format. A lot easier to read and understand.
In the Kansas City Area: 5,428 and 49 deaths
Our local county: 2,957 and 50 deaths
And the number of cases within our zip code: 326
Not the best news for our area. Let’s focus on some happier things.
Moments of Gratitude From A Rainy Week
Rain holding off enough to still get to go outside with the preschool students. Important thing right there!
Surprise lilies blooming in the backyard
Time to relax and finish my book. If you are looking for a fun summer romance to keep your mind off everything else, Summer at the Castle Cafe by Donna Ashcroft fit the bill for me. Only complaint is it did make me crave a piece of chocolate cake as often as the book mentioned it!
New cleaning supplies arriving on the doorstep. Giving BLUELAND a try. So far, I like them Perhaps I’ll write up a proper review next week. (Note: I just wanted to try them, no sponsored posts around here)
What small (or big) things are you enjoying this week?
