It has been a rather long week around here first with everyone home for the holiday on Monday followed by J staying home sick from school on Tuesday. Yesterday was the first day that felt “normal” all week and I had a PTA event last night. My own family didn’t go but I had to be there as I had committed to volunteer. I looked around my home today and realized that somehow during the course of the week I apparently missed a party. There sure is a mess left over! So, I’m spending today doing my fast 15 minutes in each room. I was taking a break and reading a few blogs and noticed that Hannah over at Supermommy!…or Not! posted an A to Z of Me link up. Seemed like a fun thing to do on my breaks from cleaning up around here.
Age: 34. Oops, reverse those numbers for the correct answer. That strategy won’t work for me next year!
Bed size: Queen
Chore you hate: I have to pick just one? Could I just say housework and call it complete? My least favorite thing is cleaning up the kitchen.
Dogs: Actually, I’m a cat person although I’m realizing that perhaps I’m not a 3 cat person. Too late though as we have 3 of them running around here. Okay, to be fair, we have 3 of them sleeping around here. One is snoozing in on our bed, one is in recliner, and one is on the sofa. I wonder if maybe the cats had the party I missed.
Essential to start your day: COFFEE! I don’t care what brand although we usually buy Folgers. I do need to have milk or some sort of cream in my coffee though or it is just not the same.
Favorite color: Green, the color of springtime!
Gold or Silver: Gold although a better question for me would have been pearls or diamonds and then, I would have answered both!
Height: 5′ 3″ If W the question turns out to be weight, I’m not gonna answer!
Instruments you play: None. I have no musical talent.
Job title: Paid? None. UnPaid: Mom, Wife, Secretary, Cook, Maid, chauffeur, Politician (PTA
, Travel Agent, Tutor, Party-Planner, and I’m stopping there because I don’t have time to list them all.
Kids: I don’t mind them. Two boys live here with us, ages 8 & 11. I steal their leftover candy while they are at school sometimes.
Live: Well, yes I am alive and living in a relatively large metro area in the Midwest. I’d love to live in a more urban location and my husband would love to live in a more rural location so we have agreed to stay miserable in the suburbs. Actually, I’m not really miserable here. I don’t think he is either.
Married: It will be 15 years this August.
Nicknames: Family can get away with calling me “Jeanie” and of course, I’ve been called hygiene (Hi, Jean). I could probably bore you all with lots of words on the “joys” of having a name that rhymes with many words but I won’t.
Overnight Hospital Stays: Twice. One stay per child.
Pet Peeve: Poor customer service. I will leave the store.
Quote: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not into thine own understanding.
Righty or Lefty: I’m a left-handed genius. Well, I am left-handed.
Siblings: 1 older sister and 3 older brothers.
Time you wake up: Alarm goes off at 6a.m this school year. Note: Question did not ask what time I actually get out of bed so I will not discuss my snooze button habits.
University Attended: I graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in economics.
Veggies you dislike: cauliflower tops the list but I’m sure there are more on it.
What makes you run late: Not allowing enough time as well as being easily distracted.
X-Rays you’ve had: Zero.
Yum food: Doesn’t that kind of say it all? Yum! Food! I would probably pick the chips and dips over the chocolate cake though. Of course, I’d probably go back later for the chocolate cake.
Zoo favorite animal: Tigers

Diane | An Extraordinary Day
We had cauliflower for supper tonight. It’s not my fave but it’s waaaay better than brussels sprouts! Haha!
Your quote is my life verse too!
I love your list…and getting to know YOU a bit better!
Happy weekend Jean!

Jean
I actually had an occasion to try breaded cauliflower bites this afternoon. I tried my one bite and no, I still do not like cauliflower. Brussels sprouts aren’t something I’ve had recently but the idea of them makes me cringe
Hannah
Your answer to the “Kids” question made me laugh

My answer tonight might have been different-ha!
